Benefits available for those of working age

The Welfare Rights team in North Lanarkshire has many years of experience in advocacy on all aspects of Social Security Law. The aim of the Welfare Rights Service is to offer free confidential and professional help with all aspects of claiming benefits, including:

  • Benefit checks and maximisation
  • Home Visits where needed
  • Liaison with Council Departments
  • Housing and Council Tax benefit advice
  • Telephone advice

In many instances they can also offer representation at Tribunals where necessary.

If you require any help and assistance from Welfare Rights, or would like to request a leaflet, please contact your local Social Work Office and ask for Welfare rights. Further information can also be found on the council welfare rights webpage, which you can visit by following the link: www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=15678.

Alternatively, contact a Rehabilitation and Mobility Officer at your local Social Work Office for further details.
