Should I tell my GP about my caring role?

GP Carer Register

Did you know all GP practices in North Lanarkshire have a GP Carers Register? As a carer, you are entitled to a free flu vaccination and your surgery may also offer some flexibility with appointment times, for both yourself and/or the person you care for to accommodate your caring role.

To register, ask at your GP reception or contact North Lanarkshire Carers Together on 01698 404055.

NHS Lanarkshire - Keep Well Health Check

Did you know you could access a Keep Well health check in your GP practice? When caring for a loved one we often put our own health needs to the side. This service allows you the opportunity to have a health check looking at your cholesterol, weight, blood pressure and discussing how you can maintain good mental and physical health alongside caring.

To access this service please contact the Keep Well team on 01698 754260 or email: keepwell.lanarkshire@nhs.scot
