Symptoms to look out for if you think your child is not going often enough
If your child is not pooing regularly enough then they are likely to show the following signs when they do go to the toilet:
- If a poo stays inside you for too long it becomes hard, so this means it becomes much more difficult to push out.
- They may be in pain each time they poo, then after pooing the pain goes away.
- They may be having to push very hard in order to poo.
If your child is having any or all of these kinds of difficulties then it is an indication that they may not be pooing regularly enough. You should consider changing their diet in order to help them become more regular.
