Drinks for children over 1 year old

Toddler milks are not required if they are having a varied and healthy diet. Aim for up to 2 cups of whole milk a day from 1 year of age (semi skimmed is fine from 2 years old), then any other drinks should ideally be water.

From 1 year old they can have tap water. A cup of water can be offered after each meal. Avoid fizzy drinks, tea and coffee, or anything containing caffeine.
