What foods shall I avoid?

Try to avoid salt, sugar, honey, cheese (unpasteurised/soft cheeses), raw eggs, low fat or low calorie foods. Also avoid semi skimmed and skimmed milk for children under 1.

Unless advised otherwise, full cream milk can be used in foods/cooking once they are over 6 months old, but not as a main drink. From 1 year they can drink full cream milk.

Avoid adult ready meals as these are usually very high in unhealthy fats and salts. Avoid whole grapes and similar shaped foods as these are a choking hazard.
