SMART Recovery (SMART) is a science-based programme to help people manage their recovery from any type of addictive behaviour. This includes addictive behaviour with substances such as alcohol, nicotine or drugs, or compulsive behaviours such as gambling, sex, eating, shopping, self-harming and so on. SMART stands for 'Self Management and Recovery Training'.

Based in Airdrie, St. Andrew's Hospice is an independent charity providing care and treatment for those living with life threatening illnesses. We are also here for all the family, as providing support for loved ones and carers is a central part of our mission. We provide a family support service providing Specialist Palliative Care and Bereavement Care. We provide a service completely free of charge for the adult population of North Lanarkshire and strive to meet the needs of all irrespective of religious, cultural or ethnic background.

Stress Control classes will help you develop skills and techniques to manage common mental health issues caused by modern day living such as stress, anxiety or low confidence. The classes are delivered in local community facilities and consist of six sessions lasting 90 minutes each. You will not need to speak about your issues during the class, just sit back and listen about helpful stress control techniques. Feel free to bring someone along with you for support.

New online debt system launched

An online form is now available for anyone who needs debt advice. Residents can make a request online, any time that suits day or night.
The form is part of a new system for managing the council's debt advice service and provides a confidential, accessible way to digitally sign required paperwork upload evidence and receive correspondence.
To complete the form, residents must use a MyAccount, which is quick and easy to set up and allows residents to access a number of services including reporting a housing or bin issue, paying Council Tax and booking a special uplift.
